Aaliyah Dana Haaughton rose to notoriety after she released her debut album Age Ain't Nothing but a Number in 1994. The album, released when she only had 15 years old, went Gold. R. Kelly heavily influenced the group and helped bring her into the spotlight. In 1996, she debuted her second album One In A Million with Jermaine dupri and Timbaland. The album contained the hit number one track If Your Girl only was aware. Aaliyah's second album called One in a million was released in 1996. It included the first hit single If Your Girl Only Knew. She starred with martial arts legend Jet Li in the romantic-action movie Romeo Must Die. The role was offered to her after being spotted by film producer Joel Silver at an awards ceremony. In 2002, she was in the vampire movie Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. In 2003, she starred in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. The year 1999, 2001, 2002, and 2003 she was nominated to win four Grammy awards. Aarti Mann.....................Aarti Mann also known as Aarti Majumdar is an American actor who is best known for her portrayal of Priya Koothrappali in the popular TV series The Big Bang Theory. She is of Indian descent and was born in Connecticut. Mann is the abbreviation used for her husband's first name Mankad. Aarti is a combination of Aarti Majumdar as well as Aarti Munn for her professional names. Though she started her career with minor TV and film performances, her acting career picked up momentum in the mid-2000s. The actress has also been featured in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy and Grey's Anatomy. Her commercials have featured prominent brands like Volvo. She has a daughter, who lives in Los Angeles and is pursuing her acting.
