April Ross

April Ross is one of the few female beach volleyball athletes to win medals in many Olympics. The American will play in Tokyo to compete for her third Olympic medal, along with Alix Klineman. She is a one time Olympian. Ross hopes to win more than her first Olympic medal. With her age of 39, it may be her final opportunity to claim an Olympic gold medal. The athlete is optimistic, however most prestigious prizes are within reach. Ross said on NBC Boston that he believes when they perform at their very most effective, and even play an excellent game, we'll be in the running for gold. And, I'm also going attempt to get lucky. Ross born in 1982, and grew up within Costa Mesa California with her sisters and parents, was the first to begin playing sports in Newport Harbor High School. At Newport Harbor High School, she played in a variety of athletics. As well as indoor volleyball, she took part in track and basketball as an amateur athlete. It was clear that she was one of a kind in the latter sport. Based on her biography, she was an outside blocker as well as a middle hitter in the volleyball court throughout her high-school career. For her efforts, she was honored as one of the 1998 Gatorade International Player of the year in Circle of Champions. The skills she showed in volleyball also earned her the Orange County Athlete of the Awards in 2000. Ross and Klineman are performing their duties since 2017. The reality is that Ross was already a respected athlete in the volleyball world prior to this pairing. She's won big events with different teams. One of them has become a legend in the volleyball world. From 2007 until 2013, she was working by Jennifer Kessy, who is her current coach. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be extremely successful on the international circuit, winning their first world title in 2009. They were awarded a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team together with Kerri Jennings claimed the gold. As fate would have it Ross got Walsh Jennings' new partner in the event that May-Treanor decided to retire. The pair went on to win the bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross participated in the Trojans at USC during her college years after she graduated in high school. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was stellar. While a freshman in the year 2000 she earned Pac-10 and NCAA freshman of the year awards and was an All-American. In 2000, her Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a heartbreaking personal loss during her sophomore year and yet she came back as an All-American. In her two final years playing for the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them achieve consecutive championships. Individually she had cemented herself as an all-time legend winning an award in the year 2003-04. Honda Sports Award as the best female volleyball player. Ross studied the study of international relations in USC. Unfortunately, Ross mom Margie was not able to witness her daughter rise to the highest levels of beach volleyball superstardom. Ross suffered the loss of her mother due to breast cancer back in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. Her mother is still in her arms. Margie is a constant source of inspiration to her in and out of the water.
