Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born into a musical family on 9 August 1963 at Newark New Jersey the daughter of gospel singer Cissy Houston (nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. as well as a cousin of the singing sensation Dionne Warwick. When she was a little girl, Houston started singing professionally in New Hope Baptist Church in Newark with her mom singing on Chaka K's Im Every Woman in 1978. The Whitney sequel in 1987, featuring the singles How Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to further build upon the success of her debut album. But it was it was the 1992 film The Bodyguard that solidified her standing as an artist with the highest sales. Although the film was not an instant hit nor was her performance, the soundtrack of her Dolly Parton version I Will Always Love You was able to reach the top of both single and album charts in America for a number of months. She sold over 44,000,000 albums worldwide. The daughter of her mother Bobbi is born March of 1993, the year after she wed Bobby Brown. It was about this time that her widely documented substance abuse began. By 1996 she was a daily user.

Dana Bash also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz is an American anchorwoman for the CNN newsroom as well as a political correspondent for CNN. The anchor also hosts a few show on weekends for the channel including Evans & Novak Late Edition and Inside Politics. She's worked at other renowned networks in the recent past like NBC and CBS. Bash has been awarded the Women in Washington Power List honor from Elle magazine. A lot of young journalists admire Bash's incredible reporting and anchoring capabilities.
